Title: Growing Roots
In today's devotion, I get to learn the difference between accepting and following Jesus.
"Following Jesus requires us to be actively and intentionally connected to Him personally. We need to make to be with Him, to listen to Him, to learn about Him and to learn from Him" - YouVersion Holy Bible App Plan (Grow: Becoming more like Jesus)
From the bible verse Col. 2:6
"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him."
We get to know that by accepting Jesus Christ in our lives we surrender ourselves to HIM and in HIM alone. Let alone GOD be the center of our lives. Let HIS kingdom be our ultimate goal and let not the earthly things distract us from honoring and keeping our faith in HIM.
By following Jesus' footsteps we get to be closer to HIM. He left us His 10 commandments to guide us in our journey towards HIS kingdom. The journey may be tough but the rewards after is fulfilling. Never worry about the petty things on earth for God will always be with us every step of the way.
Accepting Jesus in our lives also means we welcome Him into our hearts and letting His love grow within us. By following Him, we are helping this love flourish and grow within us.
My dear readers, I am not a perfect human being. I make mistakes all the time - and by that I mean ALL THE TIME. I am not a good daughter. I tend to get lazy all the time. I always complain. But I am trying to change with the best efforts I could give. I always try to hit that reset button in my life.
I start with the little things and it starts with GOD. I always ask God to help me become the person He always wanted me to be, to be His child, to be His follower.
And so from this day forward...
I will renew myself and be a deep follower of God.
